This project is held every end of the year between the 5th and the 22nd of December. We indulge the community into the spirit and festivities of Christmas. During this period, we celebrate the gift of family and loved ones. Manda Foundation and MANLAN Foundation invite partners, friends, family and the community to come and celebrate with the detainees of the Buea Central Prison bringing them the warmth of the season and the love of family.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s theme is to promote Hygiene and Sanitation conditions in the community. Distribution of basic hygiene and sanitary needs such tooth brushes, tooth paste, soaps, detergents, toilet paper. There are a total of about 1200 detainees (200 of whom are female and 1000 male\u00ad).<\/p>\n
OBJECTIVES<\/strong><\/p>\n Independence for the\u00a0Vulnerable<\/p>\n WHAT THIS MOVEMENT IS ABOUT<\/strong><\/p>\n The Manda sustainability movement is about creating\u00a0long and short term sustainability for the poor,\u00a0orphan and vulnerable in our society through various\u00a0activities such as\u00a0hairdressing, sewing, cooking, makeup,\u00a0weaving, agriculture and vocational training,\u00a0while still inculcating moral\u00a0and social values such as\u00a0hard work\u00a0and devotion. The activities will vary according to the different locations of training and what the people of that particular locality practice most.<\/p>\n TARGET \u00a0POPULATION FOR THE PROJECT<\/strong><\/p>\n The beneficiaries.<\/p>\n The general public would benefit from the output of the work done.<\/p>\n PLACE OF INTERVENTION<\/strong><\/p>\n South West (Limbe, Buea and Kumba)<\/p>\n Littoral for the official launch of the project ( Mbanga, Loum, Dibombari and Wutimemeh)<\/p>\n North West (Bamenda town and places with less unrest)<\/p>\n Centre (Yaounde, Mbalmayo)<\/p>\n HOW DO WE INTEND TO ACHIEVE THIS<\/strong><\/p>\n Through\u00a0Fundraising (Pledges)<\/p>\n Through Partnerships<\/p>\n Through Sponsorships<\/p>\n Through Volunteering<\/p>\n ESTIMATED COST<\/strong><\/p>\n We\u00a0are\u00a0estimating\u00a0the cost based on the fact that\u00a0we will be providing them\u00a0with\u00a0raw materials and\u00a0manpower\u00a0for various activities such as transportation and miscellaneous.<\/p>\n DURATION OF THE PROJECT<\/strong><\/p>\n The expected duration of the project is 5 years in the long-term and we expect to have trained and established 500 persons. That is, 100 people will be selected each year within the different regions mentioned above, to go through the training and they will be given a certificate of completion each from the regional delegation of employment and vocational training. To add, we will create a platform with other entrepreneurs for recruitment until they are independent enough to start their own businesses.<\/p>\n To conclude, when looking to tackle social and\u00a0environmental issues, partners with their rich\u00a0grassroots experience help\u00a0and\u00a0bring about transformative\u00a0social change much more quickly than we can achieve\u00a0on our own.
